    Churan Feng, composer, sound designer. Voyage from the other shore south China coast, a beautiful and modern city, Shenzhen. Studying as a music technology graduate student in University of Oregon in Eugene.

    Born in 1989, Shenzhen, Feng grown up in this giant city as well. When still very young, begin to learn Violin and Vocal, then Flute. From junior school, being interested in computer MIDI and began to write music on computer on Fruity Loops, Sonar, Cubase. After taking the Chinese musical entrance exam, entered the South China Normal University as a composition undergraduate student in 2008. While taking various musical training, Feng also took all the required courses for being a teacher such as: Psychology, Pedagogic, Music Education, etc and passed the test with a authenticated Senior Teaching Certification. When writing traditional musical pieces, Feng also continued computer music composing. In University, Feng learned Piano and Guitar. After received the Bachelor Degree from South China Normal University, Feng came to U.S. Oregon Eugene, for further studying in University of Oregon. Feng is now a graduate student in School of Music and Dance, majoring Intermedia Music Technology, studying with Doctor Jeffrey Stolet, professor of Music Technology.

    Churan Feng has a multiple musical influence. Begin listening to classical music from young, then an album from Nirvana brought back from Mom at the age before 10 totally changed his thinking of music and rock music also made a deep influence to him, this could also be an explaination of later his university rock band that he founded, being the lead singer and guitar. And in after few years, New Age Music donimated his world. Later, the smooth and peaceful atmosphere created by the Ambient Music took place. Being very much inspired by the Avant-garde musician, artist, Brian Eno, Feng is always trying to accomplish the same achievement Eno defined the Ambient Music "Ambient Music must be able to accommodate many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular; it must be as ignorable as it is interesting" but in different ways. Eno created his Ambient Music in 1970s, using the technology in that time, What will Ambient Music be if composing them with contemporary electronic elements? This is the Goal.
